We specialise in helping Challengers and Underdogs take a bigger bite out of their competition. We're a creatively focused agency, but believe creativity starts with strategy. We tap into behavioural economics because it gives you an unfair advantage – and every brand needs that.
We also believe that experience pays, so we only invest in senior people who are right for the job.
The leadership team
Meet the Mr Wolf partners
Tony Singleton
Managing Partner & Head of Strategy
Tony leads strategy at Mr Wolf, which he founded in 2014. He has a fairly unique and varied background for a strategy guy – he claims it was all part of some grand career Masterplan, but no one actually believes him. Usefully it gives him a slightly different way in to solving business problems.
He holds a BA Hons in Economics and Politics from the University of Warwick, and started out in media buying at Bartle Bogle Hegarty before touring DM, sales promotion and integrated marketing on his way to a whiteboard-and-Venn-diagram addiction he now calls a career in strategy. He spent six years at The Moult Agency — rising from Group Account Director to Head of Strategy — then nine at Arnold Furnace, becoming Managing Director in 2009. When he left in 2014 to start Mr Wolf, Michael Stevenson took over as MD – and later joined him as a partner.
Along the way Tony's picked up a handful of effectiveness awards working with challenger and challenger-positioned brands including Taylors Wines, Jack Daniel's, REST Industry Super, Nature's Own, Rabobank, Volvo, Warner Bros., Peugeot and HSBC.
Michael leads the Account Management team at Mr Wolf, which he joined as a partner in 2016. Twenty-plus years in agencies has taken him from Sydney to New York to Paris and back again, working on some of the biggest FMCG brands in the world before deciding the more interesting problems were Australia's Challenger Brands.
Michael Stevenson
Managing Partner
He started at DDB Sydney managing the national McDonald's account, including the McCafe launch and Ronald McDonald House Charities, before global roles running Unilever's Lipton business first out of DDB New York, then DDB Paris, coordinating creative across 25+ offices for a brand active in 240 markets.
In 2012 he came home to run Arnold Furnace (and later Havas Melbourne), a 60-person integrated agency he'd taken over from Tony Singleton, and where he was later named Employee of the Year.
He joined Tony at Mr Wolf as a partner in 2016. Along the way Michael's work has picked up recognition at Cannes, New York Festivals, D&AD and The Webbys.
Kelli's been making great work look easy since she started out by claiming a spot in Award School's famous "Top Eight". She earned her working stripes with 7 years at the highly respected indie agency Foster Nunn Loveder, creating awarded campaigns for the likes of Guinness, Sony, Volkswagen and Zurich (Kelli claims that the regular acquaintance with cars, booze and money in her working life is purely accidental – we'll just say that it is striking).
Following the indie spirit, a stint at The Moult Agency gave Kelli the chance to flex her wings on Peugeot, Microsoft and Aussie Home Loans.
Not wanting to be typecast as indie-only, Kelli's next pit stop was Singleton Ogilvy & Mather as a Senior Art Director on Hyundai, Lion Nathan, Telstra, Pizza Hut and a lovely cup of Bushell's Tea, before joining Y&R, including several stints out of the Hong Kong office for the global Colgate Palmolive brand.
Along the way Kelli's picked up the Gold Pinnacle at the AFA Effectiveness Awards, Buspak Gold and Silver, an ATV Award plus finalist honours at the Caxtons and Folio Awards.
